Heather Donovan Frykman- 2009

   Hello and Welcome!

I am

 Heather Donovan Frykman,

the person behind the lens and not so used to being in front such as with the photo to the left.  My youngest son Dillon was kind enough to take the photo.

So, if you have not figured out yet, I am a mother.  Not just one, but I have three beautiful children who are an inspiration everyday!  In fact, my most recent adventure into photography has been because of my children and capturing their sporting activities. You see, I have always been interested in Art and Photography, but did not have the motivation to get more involved until I bought my first Digital SLR back in the Fall of 2006, just in time for my oldest son’s first football season.  I fell in love with photography all over again.

I think my first love was Art throughout my school years.  I had an awesome Art Teacher, Mrs. Munson.  She was always very supportive of my art and at one point thought about becoming an art teacher.   I was on the yearbook staff  in high school also.  I really enjoyed designing pages and choosing the photos, but the funny thing…I was never a photographer for the yearbook. Before my Senior year, I recall locating a photographer for my Senior Pictures.  She was amazing!!  Diane Marie Photography was the name.  However, I do not believe that she is still in business that was almost 20 years ago.  I remember her studio was very welcoming and right in her home.  We did venture out to her park like  back yard for several shots and she welcomed my most beloved cat, Spitfire to the photo shoot.   It was a great experience.

The next most fascinating experience with photography is when both of my son’s won a photo shoots with George Papadakis.  http://www.papadakisphotography.com/    This was an incredible experience for not just my boys on (2) separate occasions, but for me!  His studio was also located in his home…right above the couch in the studio was a life-size family portrait of Frank Thomas and his family.  (Please remember this was about 12 years ago),   anyway the studio was amazing!!  Papadakis is amazing!!

Over the years, I played around with different cameras, different techniques, different software , but it really was not until the last 3 years that I have been hit hard with this photography passion.
